YumzLab Mushroom Gummies: Page 1 Rankings and 214% Organic Traffic Growth via Amazon Backlinks
How an Amazon authority backlink strategy helped YumzLab rank on page 1-2 for 'mushroom gummies' and grow organic traffic from 350 to 1,100 visits per month in 60 days.
YumzLab sells Amanita Muscaria Mushroom Gummies, a niche product in a competitive supplements category. They came to me needing stronger search engine visibility for the keyword “mushroom gummies” and more organic traffic to their product collection page. The primary goal was to acquire high-quality, permanent backlinks that would improve both keyword rankings and domain authority.
The challenge
- The target keyword “mushroom gummies” was competitive, and YumzLab’s product page was buried on pages 4 and 5 of Google results.
- The site had a low domain authority of 11 and a thin referring domain profile.
- Organic traffic was limited to roughly 350 visits per month, not enough to generate consistent sales from search.
What I did
Backlink research and planning
I identified Amazon authority pages, including seller pages, product review sections, Q&A entries, and product listing references, where backlinks could be naturally embedded without looking forced or spammy. The focus was on placements that would appear user-driven and contextually relevant.
Amazon backlink creation
I created contextual backlinks pointing to YumzLab’s mushroom gummies collection page, using the target keyword “mushroom gummies” in anchor text where it made sense. To create a healthy link profile, I spread the backlinks across multiple Amazon authority pages rather than concentrating them in one place.
SEO optimisation and monitoring
I optimised each backlink for keyword relevance while keeping the placements looking natural. I then monitored indexing through Google Search Console to confirm the backlinks were being crawled. Alongside the Amazon links, I built supporting backlinks to balance and diversify YumzLab’s overall off-page SEO profile.
Results
| Metric | Before | After (1-2 months) |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword ranking (mushroom gummies) | Page 4-5 | Page 1-2 |
| Referring domains | Low | +20 (including Amazon) |
| Monthly organic traffic | ~350 visits | ~1,100 visits (+214%) |
| Domain authority | 11 | 23 |
The target keyword moved from pages 4 and 5 onto pages 1 and 2 in Google search results. Organic traffic more than tripled in under 60 days, and domain authority doubled from 11 to 23 through permanent, authoritative backlinks.
Why it worked
- Amazon’s domain authority is exceptionally high, and Google trusts links from its ecosystem, so backlinks placed there carry real weight for smaller product pages.
- Targeting “mushroom gummies” as the primary anchor text gave the collection page a direct relevance signal for that specific keyword.
- Spreading links across multiple Amazon pages created a natural-looking backlink profile rather than a footprint that could trigger a negative signal.
- Amazon backlinks are permanent and rarely removed, which means the SEO benefit compounds over time rather than decaying as the link ages.
